Granted this experience was three years ago, we had reserved a shoreline site that was essentially hiking up a very steep hill about 150' and had the top of a knoll for a site. Since our parents were there and had a 5th wheel we opted to forego this and stay with them. Even though there was a large group with tents out, when we inquired we were told no tents allowed, but they were not going to enforce? so why are we paying? the lake and beach are awesome, but it has taken us three years to give it another try.
It's a good place to put a boat in the water
Boating price is little bit expensive.
Reasonable prices on kayak or paddle board rentals. Until I can afford my own kayak I'll keep renting here. There are so many places to explore on this lake.
I love Whiskeytown lake. So much to do & see. Not a far drive Redding California
